hi there dont know if this is the right section but can anyone tell me where i can find out if my uncle left a will when he died? Both my sister and i were always told that when he died everything he had would be split 5 ways both of us and his two nephews and his niece,when he died his brother(who was his next of kin and father of the nephews and niece) told us that there was no will. Is there anywher i can find out if this is true?? thanx in advance

You can't find out if is true - there is no register of wills in the UK.

You can find out if the brother has obtained probate for a will (and if he has buy a copy) or obtained Letters of Administration from the Probate Office - but this is after the event.

The brother will have sworn under oath to the Probate Office that there is no will if he has ontained Letters of Administration.
