We bought a house in 2007. The house & mortgage are in joint names. He left me 24th July and has not been seen since. The police did find him (out of the country) and he will not speak to me about anything. Can I transfer the house into just my name?

No you can't, is the short answer. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly with the long answer :-)
If you can afford a solicitor then get one. If you can prove you have tried every avenue possible to track this person down and you are not in arrears with the mortgage, you can possibly get this house in your name only. I think it goes to court and if the judge can be convinced you have tried everything possible to track this man down they may grant you full ownership of the house. Keep all records of attempts and speak to a solicitor.
