mortgage broker

just had a mortgage broker over( the second one ) the first charged 300 quid on completion but this one charged a percentage of the amount of the remortgage which i have workrd out to be roughly 2,500 quid how can the prices vary so much???should i give the second one a call tommorow and tell him to forget it im not paying that amount!!!

Some are more greedy than others. although by law they have to tell you what they are paid some rely on the fact that a client will be far enough down the process that they won't want to start again. If you are not happy negotiate.

As with all transactions, you can deceide to take up someone's offer or not.
Does the broker who charges more have a better product for you? Taking his fee into account is it still the better option for you?
Why do you begrude paying him a 1% fee when many lenders currently charge arrangement fees in excess of 2%?
