If i am facing redundancy , I will recieve approx 25,ooo in payments and shares , I have a mortgage married with 3 children , what can I expect to recieve ashelp from the government as in poll tax etc

You definately won't be eligible for council tax benefits whilst you have �25K, you will be expected to use that.

Do you have income protection with your Mortgage? You may be able to claim on that.
ooooorr, heres a novel idea .... get another job!
sorry, i realise that sounded rather rude, but why not look on the brightside, that you will find another job and wont need benefits?
The benefits system is really in place for those who have nothing mainly so having 25 000 pounds dosent really tally with that, you will be expected to use that money to live off before you getany means tested benefits (of which cuncil tax is one) additionally, if your redundancy pay ncludes any money in lieu of notice, you wont be able to claim jsa till after that period
