Terms like 'good' or 'bad' are very subjective.

This page quotes typical prices in Iceland a couple of months ago:
http://www.hostel.is/default.asp?cat_id=276

I've copied and pasted the content of that page, but substituted sterling values based upon the conversion rate you've quoted:
1 kg bread ~ 1.06
1 litre milk ~ 47p
1 kg cheese (26%) ~ 5.84
1 kg bananas ~ 1.06
1 litre orange juice ~ 66p
1 kg cucumber ~ 1.85

Lunch at a low-medium priced restaurant ~ 5.31 7.97
Dinner at a low-medium priced restaurant ~ 7.96 - 21.25
Glass of beer (0.33 l) ~ 3.72
Wine, glass/bottle ~ 4.78/18.59
Expresso ~ 1.59

1 litre of gasoline ~ 85p
Public bus ticket ~ 1.49
Overnight stay at a hostel ~ 10.09 (HI members)

Access to swimming pool ~ 1.91
Movie ticket ~ 5.05
Daily newspaper ~ 1.59

That's great, thanks.
The Icelandic currency is one of the very few that is "worse" against the pound than say 1 year ago. In other words, your pound will buy much more now than it did then. I don't know the specifics but a friend who visited there recently tells me that it is now just "pricey" rather than "absolutely ludicrously extortionate"!
