i live on my own with a mortgage with the alliance and leicester which i changed to interest only when i was made redundant in december 2008.i am now claiming contribution based job seekers allowance as from january 16th when can i recieve help with my mortage payments i cant seem to find any help

Any help with mortgage payments will depend on the amount of capital you have, such as redundancy payment and savings.

I take it you didn't bother to take out mortgage protection insurance which would pay your mortgage for 2 years in the event of redundancy or sickness.

Personally I don't agree, Vibrasphere, but that is sour grapes on my part as a tax paying senior citizen.
It was his choice not to get insurance, and I have to pay for it.

thanks for taking the time in answering my question i now need to know if help is available after 13 weeks for people claiming contribution based jobseekers allowance or is it just income based and income support i will be very grateful if someone could find this out
