I recently bought an item over the Internet. It was not delivered and I cancelled the order. The supplier has promised to refund my Mastercard in full (almost 3K) on several occasions but has failed to do so. (Only since have I seen a forum in which other people mention similar complaints about the company! ) I have written to him saying that unless he makes the refund I will recover the sum by other means. I had it in mind that my CC covers defaults like this. Does anyone have first-hand experience of claiming from the CC company and, if so, how do I take advantage of this, please? There is a lot of info on the back of my CC statement but nothing covering this topic. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I have had to do this on a couple of occasions, just contacted my cc company, answered a few questions about the case and let them get on with it!

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

I spoke to the RBS helpline who gave me a contact in "Retailer Disputes." These people seemed familiar with the problem and asked me to provide proof that the retailer had offered to refund. I was able to post copy Emails showing that two promises had been made (and broken). Hopefully, this will be sufficient to enable them to pursue a refund (or make one) on my behalf in due course.

Cheers.
