I have over 200,000 (yes two hundred thousand) bmi miles and it is almost impossible to use them. Don't be conned by this scam. Avalable dates are very few and far between, and the return dates never fit with the outbound. Then when you try and book the flight, you will find that the taxes (which aren't actually taxes at all) cost nearly as much as you would pay for the flight. The taxes are higher than they would be when you book a conventional flight. A complete con, especially the bmi ones. BA miles are slightly better, in terms of availability, but you still get stung for tax. They keep mounting up but I have never found them of any use at all.
