Can anyone tell me how many pairs of hands i.e.people, each pound of income has to go through before it is taxed to nought here in the UK. At 20% tax the easy answer is 5 but some pay tax, some don't. Some pay tax at a higher rate. Some pounds are saved not spent though most are still taxed.
And are we unusual or are most western countries all the same.
I'm not sure what your point is. I don't think there's much difference across Europe in terms of tax as a proportion of national income but I'm sure the figures are available via a google search
No set number but all liquid cash will become tax quite quickly. The only way to prevent this is to store it in assetts but even they, over time will become tax.
