Dodgy email?

I have received an email which I haven't opened puporting to come from Hsbc. Subject 'your account has been accesed by a third party' This is the actual speliing.
There is an attachement
Has any one else had anything similar? & should I just delete it?

housemouse - if,as they do, you send out a phishing mail to a million people, and 0.5% of them respond - that's a good result, and the law of averages says that the averages are better than that, which is why phishing still goes on.
I'm afraid we do love our officialdom, and if something 'official' tells us to do something, a knee-jerk reaction is to obey.
You'd hope that anyone bright enough to operate a computer and have a bank account would be immune to such nonsense - but of course, sadly, you would be wrong.

I get loads of these emails, allegedly from every bank under the sun. Just delete them as your bank will never email along these lines. Most of the spellings give the game away. If you hover your mouse over the email address and check "Properties" you'll see that the email address from which it originates is often a private address rather than a bank, which is a dead giveaway that it's a scam..
