GETTING ID CERTIFIED

I have been asked by a financial firm with whom I have an investment to provide copies of at least 2 personal documents which would prove who I am.
These docoments must be signed and dated etc by a judge, accountant, police officer or Minsister of Religion etc.
I do not know anyone who I can ask as I do not know anyone who would be elligible to sign.
Anyone got any ideas - if I don't get the relevant documents I cannot even withdraw my money if I wanted it.

A couple of years ago, I had to get certified proofs of identity for dealings with the Land Registry. (I was selling a small slice of my back garden to my next door neighbour). I simply took my passport along to a local solicitor's office. She checked that my face (roughly!) matched the photograph in my passport, then photocopied the relevant page and officially certified it. She only charged me a fiver!

It's not available at any Post Office, you'll have to check on the Post Office website. They are usually the Crown Offices (the main one in towns and cities).

your doctor, solicitor or if you know a chartered surveyor. Essentially anyone with a 'profession' (and no I do not include ladies of the night).

Many GPs now charge quite a large fee for this service - you might well do better elsewhere if yours is one who does

Do you have any neighbours who are company directors? Your local Councillor if you know him/her. A GP will normally charge about £25. What about a company director where you work?

my sis is an accountant and did mine! she had to write certain phrases and counter-sign on the photocopies, so have these ready! then make copies so you never have to ask again! xx

Usually anyone with a qualification can sign these. Qualified nurse, Occupational therapist, director of a company etc.

I signed a document like this for a neighbour and no comeback. If they suspect anything they will send someone to your address.
