GETTING ID CERTIFIED
18 Answers
I have been asked by a financial firm with whom I have an investment to provide copies of at least 2 personal documents which would prove who I am.
These docoments must be signed and dated etc by a judge, accountant, police officer or Minsister of Religion etc.
I do not know anyone who I can ask as I do not know anyone who would be elligible to sign.
Anyone got any ideas - if I don't get the relevant documents I cannot even withdraw my money if I wanted it.

(I was selling a small slice of my back garden to my next door neighbour). I simply took my passport along to a local solicitor's office. She checked that my face (roughly!) matched the photograph in my passport, then photocopied the relevant page and officially certified it. She only charged me a fiver!

It's not available at any Post Office, you'll have to check on the Post Office website. They are usually the Crown Offices (the main one in towns and cities).
