I was recently made redundant from a company which is owned by an American company worth billions. Last year, I was given 25 shares (certificate) and I am really not into stocks and shares. I looked up and saw that the shares are worth about 23 US dollars each. Is there any way I can just sell these american shares totally and get any money for them at all?
Any international brokerage should be able to help you, probably even National ones. Look into a Merrill Lynch or some such. For a small transaction fee, they should be able to divest you of your shares. If the stock is traded on the big board (NYSE) or NASDAQ, there shouldn't be any problem at all.
Contact a stockbroker in London like Barclays or Killik & Co. Only problem is, the shares you have are worth only about 300, so any broker may believe it not worth the hassle for such a relatively small amount.
