Oliver Reed used to live in Guernsey for tax reasons. What were those reasons??! Why is it different to UK?

Wow, now that is VERY informative- thankyou so much!! I will print that off and tell my students (who were asking!) THANKS!
There's also no such thing as car tax! Unless you're Guernsey born, you cannot buy a property over there until you have been resident for 15 years.  In the meantime, you are forced to pay inflated prices for rental properties (a friend of mine is there temporarily and pays 1200 per month for a basic one bed flat).
