chaning from a joint to single mortgage without secure finances?
3 Answers
Hi,
My partner and I have recently seperated (amicably!). We need to change from a joint 50/50 mortgage to a single mortgage. As she never contributed to the deposit, paid the mortgage or did the house up, she is fine with giving up her 50% share. Whats the best way to go about this?
Only snag, other than giving up years of happiness, is that my contracted employment runs out in March, and so I cant proove to my lender (Halifax) that I will be in a secure enough position to pay the mortgage, even if I get a new job before then.
Happy days!

However there could be problems if you get behind on payments.
It's probably best to come clean and discuss it with your mortgage company
