Legal responsibility?

Is there a ruling in law, that errant fathers should pay money towards their children, or is it just a matter of hope? If my child's father refuses to pay (as he has for 3 yrs) can I take him to court? Answers welcome please! However, do not suggest I contact the CSA as I have and they are hopeless!!

You can try to locate one using the Law Society website which is http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/home.law. On the right hand side of the home page is a Find a Solicitor feature. (The usual place that solicitors can be found is at the golf club. Ha Ha)
