Reclaiming Irish VAT
1 Answers
Can someone help me please. I called HMRC and they just reffered me to the piece of paper that got me confused in the first place.
We are a UK VAT registered company. We were asked to do some work in Dublin by another UK VAT reg company. Our guys bought all the materials in Dublin so I have a number of Euro invoices with Irish VAT. Invoices for materials will amount to no more than 10,000€
I know I can't reclaim that VAT in England but I'm so confused about whether I need to register us for VAT in Ireland or if I can just do a reclaim?
And what about the sales invoice we do? Do I still just charge VAT at 20% or do I have to account for Irish VAT somewhere in it.
Wish we'd never taken this job on, it's been a nightmare from day one.

and, as a UK-registered business, you must charge VAT at the UK rate on any relevant goods or services which you supply to others.
