For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.The form you require is Land Registry Form RX 1. This can be printed off the LR website - go to Forms and scroll down. If you are currently in a joint tenancy with no mortgage then tell your partner what you are doing (either verbally or in writing) and then you can submit this Form - you do not require your partner's consent. The Form must be sent to your local District Land Registry Office, you can find this also on the LR website. There is no fee.
However, if there is a mortgage you must inform the lender of your proposal, and, if they agree (and they are not bound to), the lender will insist upon doing all of the work (yours and theirs) including the LR. They will charge you a fee of around 250.
