With this you'd be able to set up a standing order and send the money to the council now. You can easily find their sort code and account number to do this.
Council Tax offices always have backlogs of everything and people who go there in person get dealt with first, letters posted in last and people who phone somewhere in between.
Is the house new and maybe they havent had it valued yet for CT purposes.
You should be able to ring the council and ask for your account number and amount, if you are registered they will be able to provide this.
Then send payment in, quoting the reference and your account will be paid accordingly.
You must make sure they have your correct address details sounds stupid i know but if there are maybe 5 or 6 flats in your block maybe more they may just have a digit wrong somewhere and its going to your next door neighbour!!!! Plus make sure when you do eventually get your bill through they don't expect you to pay for the last 2 mths there and then they can spread the payments over the course of the rest f the year or even have you pay in the month you are meant to have off so you can catch up.
