Can anyone better (if that's the right word) a 30 minute wait and no answer from M&S Bank?

I don't use M&S bank, but 7 hours on hold with the Department of Work and Pensions, before getting a message telling me that they'd now closed, might put me ahead of you in more general terms ;-)
Or I could mention 2½ years trying to get East Midlands Gas to reconnect a gas fire (after I'd got my landlord to fix a fault) before receiving a notice of criminal prosecution from East Midlands Gas because of my failure to get a faulty gas appliance fixed and reconnected!
