Hi Guys,

When taking out holiday insurance do I really need baggage cover too? If baggage is lost in transit cannot the costs can be claimed back from the responsible party? Please help as my insurance is due for renewal and the extra for baggage is quite considerable. Ty in advance.

You don't need it if your personal items are covered away from home on your home contents insurance.  Otherwise I'd advise it, besides it doesn't add much more thatn about 20 squids on an annual poilcy, better safe than sorry.

It really depends on the risk involved.  Do you take expensive things?  Would the bags themselves be expensive to replace.  In my case, I prefer to have the discount as it would not break my heart to have to buy a few new clothes.
