I am unable to get out at the moment, having succumbed to the dreaded novo virus....

I am checking the new ISA providers.....apart from the big banks, are there any other smaller ones, or building societies giving more than 2 %..?

I prefer to deal face to face and would commit for 2 years. I am a higher tax payer.......( but if things go on downwards, I'll soon be losing that "privilege ")

Halifax have got 2.5% for a 2 year fix. Cheshire Building Society are offering 2.3% for an instant access one.

Have a look here: http://www.moneysupermarket.com/shop/savings/cash-isas/
Most of the deals at the moment are pretty dire and if you do get a half decent rate, you can`t transfer in previous ISAs. I use thisismoney.co.uk as it gives clear tables about what is available. I hate to say it but Santander seems to be one of the best rates (if you can bear to deal with them as they`re atrocious)
If you have a Santander 123 Current Account (or Credit Card) you can get a 2 year ISA at 3% and it accepts transfers in from other providers. Probably wont get much better than that at the moment.

Oh and if Rory McIlroy wins a Major Golf Tournament you get an extra one-off bonus of 0.10% (every little helps)

PS I don't work for them !!
I've just transferred mine this week to Leeds BS online saver- 2.55%. 'Instant' access and can cancel at any time without penalty
