Sending Money Via Bank Transfer

Hi i want to purchase items online and can pay by transfer the problem is in my banks bank transfer form it says "name" and the companys name is too long to fit in this box. Would it matter if i abbreviated the name as the sort code and account details are really what matters isn't it?

I don't think it matters, I think it's more for your own info and so you can recognise the payment on your statement.

This is what i was thinking vodka. It's not a lot of money just £20 but didn't want the inconvenience of chasing it because of a mistake i made.

I'm with HSBC Henrietta, and I've done it several times with no problems. Like V&C says, it's most likely just for your own reference.

Is it so the name of the transaction appears on your bank statement?
