Just so you understand it, you take the difference - 200 and put it over the original price. so 200/400 equals half. half of a hundred percent is 50 percent.
the difference is 200

and the big question is it 200 over 400 or 200 over 600 ?

Big question which started plaguing me since the age of 10 (1960)

There has to be an increase from something
["it grew from X to Y"]

and so it is 200/400 or 50%


Profit or loss - is it (over) the starting price (cost price) or selling price
never could get the hang of it
