hey, i know this sounds silly but ive never had to manage my own bills before so i have a quick question r.e tv license! ive always been in shared properties with bills included....but do i need to set up tv license myself or will they automatically know i need to have a tv licence and ask me for payment? ive been in a new property of my own for nearly a couple of months now, will i get fined or be in trouble for not paying it up to now? thanks!

You need to contact the TV Licensing authority and arrange a licence. They will track you down for payment eventually but by then you may already be in trouble. Do it sooner rather than later to be sure to avoid a fine.
I'm pretty sure it's your responsibility to pay it , not theirs to let you know
www.tvlicensing.co.uk You can do it online and pay monthly to spread the cost. It doesn't cost any more. Do it now!
Simply follow whichever link here offers the best payment option for you:

As long as you do that straight away, you'll have nothing to worry about.

Yes, you need to instigate it, but provided you do it soon there will be nothing to worry about over the last two months.
