Maternity Payment - 500.00
2 Answers
I am due a baby in October, I am single but employed at the moment. When I go on Maternity Leave I will only get Statutory MAternity Pay from my employers. I am over 18 and this is my first child. Will I be eligible for the Maternity Payment of 500.00 from the Social Fund?

I think it depends on how much you earn. Inland Revenue/Social Security will be able to help you.
Good luck. As a single parent I get help from Tax credits and local authority. His little lordship and I don't live an oppulent lifestyle but we pay the bills and have enough for little luxuries every now and then. I don't get maintenance payments but even if I did tax credits don't take them into account.
Enjoy being able to leave the house without looking like a Sherpa, come October you won't have enough hands!!!
