Having just spent an hour looking at varius "compare credit cards" sites and being not much the wiser, can any of you wise ABers suggest a new credit card for me? Barclaycard is dropping its Nectar points, which I found was a nice little earner!

The interest rate is irrelevant, but what I want is online protection, purchase protection, a widely accepted card and cashback or similar (not airmiles or money off a car!).

TIA

All credit cards will offer online protection and purchase protection (under the Consumer Credit Act). They will also be widely accepted as each other - ie someone either takes Visa/Mastercard or they don't - its not the individual cards that matter. AMEX is the only one that is not widely accepted.

You can try:

Morgan Stanley, Abbey Cashback, More Than.

Most of these have introductory offers

I use Goldfish and regularly get vouchers from them. There is a wide range of shops etc to choose from.
