I am hoping to market a money clip in the UK & US .The UK money clip will be for 1.00 coins. Is there an US equivelant coin? Are they the same thickness and diameter?

Any info would be very appreciated. Thanks.

One pound is equivalent to $1.75 or thereabouts. US currency is in paper for one dollar and above. The largest denomination coin in general circulation is 50 cents which is worth about 60 p. It is 30.61 mm in diameter, and 2.15 mm thick, There are dollar coins, which are smaller, but I do not think they are widely used (if at all).
Think Europe. Think Euros.
The most commonly used coins in the US are quarters (25 cents), 10 cents, 5 cents and 1 cent.
Of course the 50c is worth about 30p not 60 as I stated above.
