Switching Mobile Phone Or Broadband Provider?
3 Answers
Have you been telephoned and invited to change your mobile phone contract or broadband service recently?
I was. Earlier this week. By BT. I declined, since their are technical reasons why I can't receive the kind of speeds they're trying to sell me.
If you saw BBC Breakfast this morning, you'll have seen the guy from Moneybox explaining that there is a poorly-publicised rule change, happening in just a few days' time.
If you switch today then the old rules will apply for the duration of the new contract and the newly-won entitlement to walk away from a contract if they increase prices, or reduce data or minutes allowances (effective price increases) will not apply.

What I really don't understand is whether the Moneybox person was appearing on TV to warn or merely to inform us that there had been a rule change.
Evidently it was just information as they could have warned people well in advance.
