Decent, Modern Bank ?

Can anyone suggest a decent, quick, modern thinking bank?
I've just transfered money from my bank to my credit card and it says the money will be at the destination in 2 days ! Why does 'faster banking' not apply to this transaction? I move money from my online Tesco savings account into my bank it's there in a few minutes even on a Sunday afternoon. Bank to savings account is next working day.

well the obvious answer that springs to mind is "tesco"!
most banks do faster payments - lloyds and santander do

So do TSB. Is it something to do with credit cards?

We bank with First Direct and nearly all my payments and transfers appear within few minutes. Plus they give you £100 for moving to them :-)

Nationwide - if you bank on-line you can do the transfer yourself and see it straight away.

I bank with Lloyds and they also do fast transfer

well I know most of the banks have this but you must use the proper sort code and account with the long credit card number as reference. see the instructions on the back of the bill:

I bank with WB21 and they are the best digital bank for international transfers
