Fill in this form and it will calculate whether you are entitled to any tax credit and the amount you may receive.

I did that but I was just interested for my kids sake, and I just wondered if anyone knew the limit without filling in forms.

It just says yes or no rather than what the limit is and how much you get.
How old are your kids? You have to be 25 or over to get tax credits. I don't know the limits/amounts myself but someone else may.

well the one I was thinking about is 23 so I guess that rules her out then but she lives with a guy who is over 25

They don't earn much between them but I don't want to suggest this unless I know roughly whether it is likely they will get something.

Go to this link and click on the top option on the page, scroll down to page 18 of the PDF file and it gives a table to work out amounts awarded depending on income.

ok thx daffy, so basically you need to earn less than 17K to get anything and then its up to about 3K if you earn less than 10K. I think they earn more than that together so they wont apply.
