Euros To Sterling

Does anyone know what the cheapest way will be, to get Euros changed to sterling. The money will start in Ireland and we obviously want it to come here to the UK.

It'll be in the region of 120-150k. Don't think Paypal will do it for free as they do with smaller amounts :)

Be careful.Some friends of mine wanted to bring the money from the sale of their house in Australia into the UK. Unfortunately, they arrived here before the money did. If they had got the money here first, there would apparently not have been a problem, but getting the money after they arrived meant that it counted as income and was due to be taxed accordingly.

It's normally better to use a currency broker than your bank.

I doubt if paypal do it 'for free' even for smaller amounts - I would suspect they use a doctored exchange rate. You need to take any fee and the exchange rate into account when assessing the costs

Why don't you just open an international bank account?

Klav, I've looked into that loosely, will they tolerate a couple of deposits then a closing of the account do you think? I haven't really looked into the terms and conditions yet.
