What is the cheapest, fastest way of transferring money from a bank account in Australia to a bank account UK? Neither account is an online account.

Your bank can set up a "SWIFT" transaction for you. For a fee of course!
As it's the Australian bank who do all the sending and fee charging, it'd be difficult for anyone here (unless they have first hand experience of sending money from Oz) to tell you this.
TT payments (which require SWIFT codes) often cost between 20 and 30 to send *from* the UK. There could be a comparable fee the other way round. They take 2-5 working days.
Do you know of any Australian forums where you could ask?

Or... do you use paypal?

Hi Thanks for that I will ask my bank today about swift transactions. stevie21, I don't  know of any Oz forums. I just like this one as it is so entertaining, and the people on here seem to know loads. I'm just going to sign off now to google paypal, as I haven't a clue what it is!
