Unsure I'd be considering volatile shares to get income. They'd be for taking a gamble on. Or maybe nipping in & out looking for the naive to fund a quick win.
When buying shares. you've got to ask yourself what are you after; growth or income??
I've got some AIM shares, in some less stable companies, that don't pay any dividends; but there's a good possibility that the price of the share will increase.
I've also got shares in some blue chip companies, where the share price is quite stable; but I'm getting dividends of around 5% :)
