I asked the question below after 8 months of trying to get Barclays Bank to acknowledge my claim for PPI.

Eventually, through the good services of the Financial Ombudsman, I received the monies that were owed to me. It took 18 months from start to finish.

The FOS advised me to complain to Barclays which I did, through the FOS.

I received a phone call this morning offering me £100 in compensation, for the long delay in handling my claim.

Do you think this amount is acceptable or, should I go back to the FOS.

I would take the £100 and call it quits. You have been messed about for long enough. If you don't think that £100 is acceptable, how are you going to prove that you deserve more?
Quite acceptable. You got your money back and a £100 bonus. Don't be greedy.

I don't think I'm being greedy. I'm a retired widow and why shouldn't they be fined for their poor behaviour?

They were probably thinking I would just give up and I'm sure many, many claimants have done just that.
