you can as I did with TSB ...there will be a contact no or address on back of cheque go there as first contact, I ended up at Equitini as a managing agent for TSB/Lloyds..there is a fee for reissue of cheques but in my case I got back more than tenfold in monies due

As minty suggested, start with Equiniti - there could be a £30 fee.
