Hi I'm signed off work due to illness and have disability to I have

Hi I'm signed off by the doctor until I'm well its because my partner gets over minimum wage and works over 35hrs but I should be entitled to something shouldn't I I'm on DLA as well he cannot get carers allowance as he earns to much and he is my carer as well I have been called on a medical assessment so will see what that comes up with

You can't get ESA and DLA at the same time, it's one or the other.You are better off on DLA as that gives your partner more money on working tax credit.

esa for first 12 months is contribution based if you have suffiicient credits of NI..thereafter income based and if you have a partner who is in FT employment you will not be eligible...pip is new DLA benefit ...ask to speak to a benefit adviser at Job Centre ..they will tell you what you can get if you ask specific questions..ie what other benefits can I apply for other than ESA
You still have not said whether you are employed and are off work sick. If that is the case then - as already stated - you get statutory sick pay. It is up to your employer to pay it.
If you do not have a job then you may be able to get ESA (as well as DLA - you can have both). However, from what you have said you cannot get the means tested version of ESA because your partner earns too much and you will only be able to get the contribution based version if you have worked and paid national insurance contributions in the relevant years. DWP should be able to tell you whether you have done so.
As already said, you may be able to get working tax credit (& child tax credit if you have children), depending on your partner's earnings. You may also be able to get some housing benefit if you are renting, and some help with council tax.
If you can't follow all this through yourself visit your local CAB for a benefit check and advice.

Who has advised you? If it's the DWP or CAB then they are probably right.
I know I've asked this before but I can't see an answer. You say I'm signed off work due to illness". Are you still employed then? If you are an employee don't you get sick pay or SSP for a period? How long have you been off sick?
