You'd have to apply for it, the slightest thing can change your circumstances so it's impossible to tell really. I do know that if you are recieving income support you can work for 20 hours a week, any longer than that and you are on job-seekers allowance, you should probably get a grant to help you with your studies too.

It depends if you are a considered a full time student or not. If you are then you are exemt from Council tax.

If you are doing furthur education you can apply for a student loan.

If you are doing higher education you can get help with books and maybe some other support depending on your income and if you live at home with parents or with a partner. If you earn under a certain amount i think you could get a small grant.

If you are doing nursing or teaching then i think you get more but i have no idea what.

Best thing to do is ring your local education authority (LEA) they will know exactly what you can and can't get and who you need to speak to.

simsfreq, a single person on Income Support can work but only if it's less than 16 hours a week, or less than 24 in the case of a partner. I don't know where you got the 20 hours from.
