Always wondered why these are precluded if not made of slate or tile. Mine is a state of the art flat roof in perfectly maintained condition, but cannot get E/R.

equity release is a terribly bad deal for everyone

The only people who benefit from Equity Release are the 'Usury Merchants' who operate the schemes.

Not only are flat roofs precluded, but the property, if leasehold, must have as much as 75years left on the lease.

There are lots and lots of reasons to avoid Equity Release.
