pro rata?????????

I'm applying for a job which is 20hrs a week and is in pounds sterling 17,044 pro rata.  what does it mean and how much will I actually get paid?

If the job is based on a 40 hour week and you are doing 20 you will be paid half the quoted rate �8522

.....which allowing a third for tax and national insurance would work out at approximately �533 per month, possibly a little more.

And don't forget that your annual vacation entitlement will also be scaled down accordingly too   i.e.  if you work only 50% of the normal working week, your holiday entitlement will also be only 50% of the normal annual entitlement.
