Cash Converters Policy

Help!!! ..... I'm having a crisis. Mr M has managed to lose the receipt for my grandmothers ring which we pawned in Cash converters a few months ago when times were hard. Does anyone know their policy on claiming it back? I will call them tomorrow but just wanted some piece of mind.

Unfortunately you need a ticket to claim anything back.

^^ Not sure that is true.They must by law have proof of your ID when you pawn something.If you can now provide that same ID it should be possible to trace their original copy of the ticket.

I would imagine all CC shops have pretty good CCTV as well.

I am sure you just need to be able to produce the same ID you used to pawn it.

Most shops have CCTV. Yet have you tried to get anything refunded without a receipt?

I went to a pawnbroker when I was clearing up a tenants bankrupt estate ( I felt I needed the practice and experience ) He had drunk himself to death
and took passports and the will
and his 'frequent flier' card

and said as his executor I am him and so I will redeem anything you have in the shop he pawned

and they were very helpful ( and said all melted down I am afraid - we dont wait around for business reasons )

whcih I didnt think was bad actualy as it was obvious he had er pawned things wh werent his ... ( in fact they were mine )
