It'd be interesting to know how you got on. I not aware how far speech to text has got for a home PC. I'd suspect that the recordings would need to be clear. It would not have occurred to me to try anything other than the listen & type method so worth knowing if there is affordable or even free software available that works.

I have not used any of these programs but a friend who did said there was a considerable amount of "proof reading" and correction.
