I have some money due to me from my solicitor, every day I phone them saying nothing has been paid into my bank, every day they say they will pay it in. What can I threaten them with (witholding money?) as they are solicitors is it possible to take legal action?

Yes it is not unusual for solicitors to be sued.
I have sued two firms of solicitors to retrieve my fees.
Rival firms would be only too happy to oblige.
Send them a list of the charges you intend to levy for each future letter/email you send to chase them up until the faster payment hits your bank account

Thanks mazie that is excellent information.
Before the Legal Ombudsman can start to act you need to have tried to seek a formal resolution via the solicitor's formal complaints procedure. This includes allowing them up to eight weeks to provide a full response. So if you haven't done so already you need to submit a formal complaint letter now to your solicitor
An old scam going back many years. Not making much interest on your money now for them but years ago was a licence to print money for them with good savings interest rates. Nice little sideline!

hello fiction-factory, don't like the sound of eight weeks wait! They've had the money since 22nd June already and not paid it to me.
