The notes have all been changed in the last 10 years or so and shouldn't be changed again for a while.
With regard to demonetisation (removal of coins from circulation) the last three coins to be so in the UK were because of changes in physical size - 50p in 1998, 10p in 1993 and 5p in 1990.
