This may seem a silly question but has anyone here ever sold anything on E-bay with a 0 feedback?
i.e Never brought anything off E-bay but still managed to sell something?

I can't answer your question directly because all of my transactions on e-Bay have been purchases rather than sales. (100% feedback, I'm glad to say). Some of those purchases, however, have been from people with no feedback. The reason I've been happy to make these purchases is that they've always been for small amounts (1 to 10). I've known that that there's an increased risk dealing with someone new to the system but, because of the small amounts involved, I've been prepared to take that risk.

So, if you're hoping to sell, say, old postcards, without any feedback, you might well get some takers. If, however, you're hoping to sell, say, an expensive digital camera, then you might have difficulty in attracting bidders.

As I've said, this doesn't answer your question directly but it shows that there are some people out there who've managed to get sales with no feedback - because people like me have bought from them!

Chris
Whenever ive bought i leave feedback, ive only sold one thing though, ive not had any problems touch wood.
I have just recently set up a seperate selling account and had to start with no feedback, hence i then sold a laptop for a few hundred quid with no probs, you just have to be careful and if your not sure of the buyer then dont sell, try and protect your self by accepting cheques, paypal is sort of ok but can be a headache if something goes wrong and you havent followed their guidelines....

Thanks for that,i wanted to sell some items on there but having read "how to sell on Ebay" it tells you to buy items off there first to build up your feedback then start selling.
They are only cheap items anyway so perhaps i may be o.k. to start bulding my feedback up that way.
By the way what can go wrong with Paypal?Only ive set up an account to accept payment that way as well as cheque/p.order.
Payapl is supposed to protect you if things go wrong - if you pay for something and the seller doesn't come through - but you don't always get your money back. Not sure if it can have problems for a seller though. I've sold over 500 items, and most payments have been through Paypal with no trouble.

I know a number of people who have bought off sellers with no feedback, but I have to admit that unless someone has at least 10, I won't even give them a second look.
I have not sold but have bought on ebay from such a seller. Are you planning to sell or buy? If you are planning to sell then some buyers may be more wary. If you are planning to buy then I'd be slightly more wary of a seller with no feedback but would give them the benefit of the doubt. Everyone has to start somewhere!!
I have bought from new sellers before, but only when the item was really cheap. I think it's quite common for new sellers to buy a few cheap items to build up some feedback. If I were you I'd sell a few cheap items first. If you start with something expensive they'll inevitably be people who will be put off and you won't get as many bids.
