We have received PPi refunds from a company who carried out the necessary searches. When we received notification of their fees they say that the 8% Statutory Interest has automatically been paid to HMRC but that if we have earned less than £1000 interest on our personal savings we should be able to claim back some or all of the money. I have tried the contact address they give on the letter but I cannot get through. Does anybody know the proper address where we can try to get some of this money back.

Bit late now, but you don't need to use a company to do this PPI work, you can do all this yourself without paying anybody anything.
It's not the 8% Statutory Interest which will have been paid to HMRC but only 20% of it. (PPI companies aren't obliged to deduct tax from the payments they make; some leave it to the claimant to sort out any tax issues. However when they do deduct tax they'll deduct it at the standard rate of 20%).

If you submit an annual tax return (either physically or online) you can enter the deduction in the relevant spaces and you'll automatically get a refund. (That's what I did).
