Insuring 2 cars at once
My husband and I already own a car but are looking to buy another at the weekend. The insurance for the first car is up for renewal shortly and I wondered if I could get a policy that would cover both cars?

My original company said that as it was a new policy, I would not be entitled to any NCD, despite the fact that the policy on my current car had full NCD.
The company I changed to gave me a second car discount and saved me a lot of money.
One thing you need to make sure is that you don't have more than 1 policy on a vehicle, as if you were to make a claim, neither company would be likely to pay out.
The Internet is a good place to look for Car Insurance.
Insead, look for a local old-fashioned insurance broker who deals in all sorts of insurance, including commercial insurance. Companies who have 'pool cars' have multi-vehicle/multi-driver insurance. This type of insurance is not restricted solely to corporate bodies (despite what NGB says) and may well work out cheaper for you.

Basically the insurance belongs to the person and not the vehicle. So your husband can only use his NCD once on one vehicle.
You should try and get a policy in your own name (thats if you drive) which would start building up your no-claims in your own right and naming your husband on the policy and vice versa.
I know Tesco offer a discount if you have 2 cars with them - I think it was about 5%.
