When I or my good lady takes a booking, I want to be able to enter it on the PC and synchronise it on both of our phones.

Anybody know of such a calendar or diary?

Share your calendars between your two Google accounts:
https://rootzwiki.com/topic/2747-sync-calendar-between-husband-and-wifes-droids/

Then, while logged into Google on your PC, go to Google Calendar and enter data into your own calendar. It will then be viewable on your PC and on both phones.
