Hi!

I was at a mortgage broker today and have applied for an decision in principle. It's been referred. The broker said this is quite standard but I just wondered if other people had experience of this. She said she would email me this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

I work part time and my husband full time. We are putting down £200,000 deposit and only looking for possibly £20k mortgage x

on the facts given
it seems quite obnvious you will get the loan you want
If I was only borrowing that amount I would apply for a bank loan not a mortgage.
It means that based on the information you have given they are, in principle, happy to give you the loan. However, once they start making enquiries, such as credit register searches, and confirming your income/outgoings, should they find anything untoward the offer could be withdrawn.
Looking at the figures quoted I cannot imagine you having any problem.
