I would like to open a joint bank account with my son, what happens to the money in account when I die, does it automatically go to him?

APC 's post is about husband and wife accts and as every fule kno, there is no IHT between married couples. But of course that does NOT mean there is no IHT for others

lesson here is to take advice for which you pay
and then you can rely on it

rule still remains no IHT payable on transfers between spouses
( but of course the will had other clauses which may have been chargeable)
