Out of the blue, I have had the above letter. My name, address, year of birth and first 2 letters of NI number.
It states I may have had a policy with them or one of their companies in the past, and to get in touch with them.
Am I right to suspect this may be a scam? If so, how have they got those details I ementioned?

This gives you a list of the many companies which have ended up as part of Aviva. You might recognise one from the past.

No it isn't a scam. Both my mother and I have had these recently. It happens when they have from returned mail from a previous address you lived at.
In both cases we had accounts with companies that Aviva had taken over.
